Fabric sub-floor" picture shows fabric installed on
lower rib below engine. Allows room to change plugs and heater tube, but
closes off the area in case you drop a plug or something. |
|
"Throttle" simply shows a throttle lever I made
which makes the lever a little sturdier and limits max. throw. Figured no extra
tension on the cable nico-press fittings this way. |
|
"Storage Pod" show pods I built that attach to
lift/jury struts. Pods are 6" diameter and 24" long. Held to
struts with cushion clamps. One pod on each wing to balance. |
This wheel dolly idea is used
only to make the a/c movable on the ground. This wheel idea allows
the plane to be easily rolled into and out of hangar. NOT intended
for flight. |

First photo "wheel-ski" shows where I welded the
small tube below the existing axle tube on the ski. The axle on the wheel
is 5/8" .120 wall SS tube. I will change to solid 5/8" stock to
avoid possible bowing. On this axle I have three small hose clamps: 2 to
hold the wheel in place and 1 to limit how far the axle can slide into
newly added ski tube. Better shown in other photo. |
|
Second photo "wheel-in-place" show the front view
of the wheel, axle and newly welded in place tube. Notice how the hose
clamps limits how far the axle can slide in, keeping it from hitting brake
caliper. Photo also show slight flexing of the .120 wall axle tube. Will
change to solid stock. |
|
Third photo "wheel-install" show the wheel in
place. Installs in 15 seconds, lift the nose of ski and slide the wheels
axle into the tube. Tire size effects ski ground clearance. Wheels shown
provide 3-4 inch clearance. |

Door-latch shows a simple (and light) way I keep my doors
open for entry/egress. The RED wedge is bolted to door frame and is
rotated to contact windshield frame as shown |
