This is an 86 Ch1 long wing rebuilt to a
clipped wing w/sq tips. It had a Dacron covered wing with 6 ribs per wing
and a 377. It weighed 300#. It now has the tall redrive that I built, 503
DCDI, sq tip 26' wing, strut and leg fairings and electric flaps and weighs
370#. I should test fly it this weekend. I have 1 month to get ready for the
trip to the challenger fly-in, about 450 miles. Jay D 8-21-04 |

I took some pics of my gap seals. I haven't
finished with them yet. I will put white trim tape
over the front edge. It is thin plastic. It is secured on
the front only. It is riveted so it has pressure on the control
surface. You can still pull it back far enough
to remove the hinge is needed. |

I cut 45" off the aileron so far. I love
the way it flies now. I might cut some more off yet.
it doubled the roll rate and cut the yaw in half. It also lowered
the stick pressure. The flaperon trim still works the same. |
